Gazprom and NIS Petrol refuelling stations facilitate campaign by “Make someone happy” Association

Sarajevo, 3 September 2024

The G-Petrol company, which manages the network of Gazprom and NIS Petrol gas stations on the Bosnia-Herzegovina market, handed over a donation to the “Make someone happy” Association on the occasion of the campaign to equip rural schools for the beginning of the new school year.

The “Make someone happy” Association has been carrying out this campaign for many years, which includes schools in rural areas that have the challenge of procuring school equipment and resources for work. The donation also includes backpacks, notebooks, crayons, and pencil cases for children from socially disadvantaged families who attend schools in these areas.

“With our donor projects, we pay special attention to children and their education, which will last them a lifetime. We are pleased to have supported a project like this one and included schools from rural areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the donation. We wish the students and their teachers a lot of success and knowledge in the new school year,” said Milan Čolović, director of G-Petrol.

The president of the “Make someone happy” Association, Aida Sadiković Mehonić, said: “This donation means a lot because it is an additional incentive for us to work, and then we can only imagine what it means to children from rural schools. In many villages where these schools are located, there are no shops or street lights. In many villages, schools have only three students. They keep the accessories and backpacks they receive as a gift years later, as a reminder that they have not been forgotten. From the bottom of our hearts, on behalf of our entire team, as well as all the users of “Make someone happy”, we thank you for this generous donation.”

This is not the first donation of G-Petrol’s support for education and children, bearing in mind that the company actively participates in the projects of the communities in which it operates. So far, projects of secondary schools, higher education institutions, kindergartens, as well as institutions for children with special needs and from socially disadvantaged families have been supported. By the end of the year, donations are planned for the regions of Bihać, Doboj, Tuzla and Mostar.
